How to prevent nail pops
- Don’t use too many screws. When fastening drywall to walls, attach the drywall every 16 inches – two fasteners in the field and one on each edge. Drywall ceilings should get screws 12 inches O.C.
- Work across the panel lengthwise. Start on one end, and then fasten across the center and the far end. This allows the screws to pull the drywall tight to the framing as the sheet is set.
